From personal experiences :

  • Which is the best time to visit Kerala? The best time to visit Kerala is August-September (Kerala’s monsoon – The best view of waterfalls).
  • Keep umbrella or raincoat every time with you in any season.
  • Gujarati food will be rarely available in Kerala.
  • For pure veg. restaurants & good south Indian food, Sarvana Bhavan & Annapurna restaurants are suggested.
  • Fresh fruits will be available everywhere.
  • Don’t take lunch, if you have vomiting problem.
  • Prefer flight if you can afford because trains can be delayed or cancelled more than flights.
  • Some local people don’t understand neither Hindi nor English so be prepared to talk using sign language.
  • Keep Amla mukhvas or some chocolates because of hilly area.
  • Keep sweater also because Munnar and Kodaikanal are having pleasant chilled weather.
  • If you don’t like South Indian food and pure vegetarian then you may have problem for food.
  • There are plenty of options for non veg. food including beef also.
  • Some hotels in hilly areas don’t have AC/Fan. But there is no such requirement.
  • The atmosphere is very foggy in October-November so we couldn’t experienced 3-4 places.
  • Don’t hold anything in your hand because of naughty monkeys.
  • We hired a tempo traveller for entire trip serving from first to last day.(airport-to-airport). It was quite economical.
  • Please confirm timings of gardens, temples etc before visiting.
  • Book your seat(window) at right side(if coming from north of Kerala) to enjoy western coast.
